In groups of 3/4 create a new nootropics brand
Choose three products that fit with the audience.
Create 3 packs, a website and a campaign.
Considerations
- Who are the audience?
- Why believe in the product and why buy?
- Consider authenticity
- What is the big idea behind the brand? Do you have a mission statement?
- Personality/values
- Unique selling point
- How would the product be spotted on the shelf?
- Is the brand name a visual opportunity?
- How does the range fit together? E.g. if the brand values are helpful, the packaging should be helpful.
Other points
- Do not need to worry about commercial restrictions for packaging
Nootropics have effects such as improving memory, motivation, mood, alertness, energy, learning, attention span, physical performance and concentration as well as reducing stress.
Nootropics come in a variety of forms such as tablets and sachets.
After research a lot of the types of nootropics it became apparent that a lot of the effects achieved are similar to that of coffee. Many people drink coffee to wake them up in the morning and help them concentrate. This lead onto the idea of creating an alternative for people who don't like coffee, in liquid form. This solves problems for those who don't like coffee but need a boost in the morning, or simply want to enjoy to social element that it is.
The group did consider other audiences/approaches such as nootropics for parents who might be lacking energy or have low moods, but it was felt that there may be guilt and concerns associated with taking tablets while caring for children. Similarly, the elderly age range were considered, but it was thought that this audience already take so many tablets that another may not be so appealing. Nootropics for those suffering with autism/ADHD were considered, but this was rejected due to a lack of knowledge of the safety of taking nootropics with these conditions.
We finalised that the product would be best to be primarily aimed at students + professionals as this audience often rely on coffee to get through tough days at work, long hours and exams.
